The impregnation treatment of oilstones is one of the auxiliary manufacturing processes for oilstones. After sulfurization, the hardness of the oil stone can increase to an extremely hard level, and its strength also increases. Generally, it appears two to three levels harder than untreated oil stones of the same level, thereby improving the wear resistance of the oil stone and reducing cutting resistance.

After sulfur infiltration, the pores are filled with sulfur, which can prevent chips from blocking the pores. When chips attach to sulfur, they will be immediately removed and will not stick to abrasives and binders.

The abrasive particles will not undergo significant fragmentation, nor will they produce moderate fragmentation. The additional lubrication effect generated by sulfur can promote the workpiece to achieve good accuracy and roughness.

Sulfur has a supporting pressure effect, and after immersion, some of the pressure is supported by sulfur, which can increase the cutting pressure for processing.

Sulfur treatment also has its drawbacks, that is, during ultra precision, the activity of cutting oil often causes rusting of the workpiece, so yellow wax treatment can also be used. In addition, during ultra precision grinding of very hard workpieces, sulfur is not infiltrated to improve cutting efficiency.

Experimental analysis shows that after sulfurization, the weight of the oil stone increases by 10% to 15%, the hardness increases by 3-4 levels, the service life increases by 1.33 to 2.78 times, and the surface quality of the workpiece is also relatively good.
